5. Marian Goodman Gallery showed the best of its top international roster, including works by highly influential Latin American artists Adrián Villar Rojas and Gabriel Orozco.

4. Gallery Nosco mounted an ambitious exhibition of mixed-media artworks, including Túlio Pinto’s minimalist constructions and Lauren Seiden’s heavily worked graphite drawings.

3. Gagosian Gallery exhibited in Rio for the second year running. The long distance didn’t deter the gallery from bringing several sculptures, including a massive piece by John Chamberlain.

2. Polígrafa Obra Gráfica, a Barcelona printmaking workshop, has been producing editions for leading artists since 1961. It didn’t hurt that their booth was heavy on prints by iconic Latin American artists like Carlos Cruz-Diez and León Ferrari.

1. Galeria Lume, founded only two years ago in São Paulo, took the top spot with its booth full of buzzworthy photography—including Laurent Chehere’s “Flying Houses” and some iconic photojournalism by Martin Parr and Alberto Ferreira.
