When I respond to art, I am drawn to the unknown, the untouched territory. That is what excites me.

The idea of boundaries and comfort zones and where I find myself-somewhere in-between, perhaps on a ley-line? It is these in-betweens, the neither, nor’s, that excite me. I find myself betwixt space and time; the connections of mind and soul. To me, art is the dream within a dream, that becomes and creates a reality. I am drawn to the pungency within the perfume, the detail within the simplicity, the complexity of minimalism. Art explores the liminal ideas that keeps my (at)tension.

To me, art is the dream within a dream, that becomes and creates a reality.

My selection from this year’s FNB Art Johannesburg fair, embodies these anomalistic ideas found in a mystical, convoluted, polluted universe.
