To show the real and genuine is a matter for Ivan Lardschneider. That is why he works almost exclusively in wood. For him, it would be inconceivable to use plastic or other materials not grown in nature, just like Jeff Cion's. Lardschneider uses only linden wood for his work because it has a uniform color and structure as well as practically free of knot holes. The coarse form is first made with the chain saw, then further processed with cutlery, rasp and sandpaper. When the sculpture is finished, it is overlaid with a matt, white wall paint, which is reprocessed again in some areas. Ivan Lardschneider intentionally avoids any surface luster, which could even convey the impression that his sculptures are made of plastic. The last processing takes place with abrasive paper and carving tools, which can be used to make skin and garment folds easy to work with. This reinforces the impression of plasticity and gives the sculpture an additional depth.

Two or three small-scale works by Lardschneider are series of six in bronze; otherwise, his sculptures are unique. The artist prefers to produce individual pieces as series, with which he could uten the market. This gives each work a special value, makes it unique and unmistakable. The motifs are not created in the head and not on the drawing board, but intuitively. Sometimes Ivan Lardschneider does not have a single idea for days. But suddenly he hears a sentence or sees a scene that appeals to him - and the motive for a new work is born. These works have their origin in the middle of life. They are unique and unmistakable. Your recognition value is high. Anyone who has seen these sculptures once will recognize them all over the world as works by the sculptor Ivan Lardschneider. It is the art of an individualist, who, in spite of all fashions, has never been led astray to express his vision of the world in a unique way.
