The tea ceremony can be seen as one kind of ritual, and coitus could be seen as another. However, as rituals these two activities are treated in different ways. What Eunhyuk Choi suggests is that you see these different events aiming at the same goal, of sharing time, one person with another. What makes us assign different values to activities that in many ways are so similar? Choi's work consists of two series of contradictory objects. One sexualises the ritual of a tea ceremony and the other ritualises the sexual act.
