If So, What? 2018: Multimedia Installations, Music, AR / VR, AI, and Blockchain Projects

As part of the immersive aspect of If So, What? visitors will experience multimedia, AR, and VR installations, as well as contemporary music performances curated and produced bySan Jose Jazz (SJZ), a Silicon Valley-based non-profit celebrating jazz as a dynamic, evolving art form.

CODAME AI and Art Workshop: CODAME is partnering with If So, What? to present a hands on workshop from April 27-29, 2018 between 12-2pm at the Palace of the Fine Arts, enabling up to 20 workshop participants to create artworks via Artificial Intelligence and machine learning with Jamaican-born interaction designer and artist Gary Boodhoo. The artworks created will be showcased at If So, What? and at the annual CODAME ART+TECH Festival, taking place June 4-7th at the Midway in San Francisco.

Queertopia and VR Projects: Daata Editions Founder and Art Basel Film & Sound Curator David Gryn will present Queertopia specially curated by Gemma Rolls-Bentley, interactive furniture by Label Dalbin, and VR projects by San Francisco based artist M Eifler (blinkpopshift) and Khora Contemporary.

Khora Contemporary is the first Virtual Reality art production company and provides artists with assistance to develop and unleash their imaginative visions, exploring the new medium of VR.

AR Digital Sculpture GardenCreateAR in cooperation with LYNCHINI and C-fire will create the first of its kind Augmented Reality Digital Sculpture Garden accessible using the Microsoft Hololens as well as a smartphone app. Participating artists are Corwin Bell, Fiona Tan, and Gabriel Dunne.  These sculptures will be for sale and transferable using open-ledger blockchain crypto technology, setting a precedent for all future digital sculpture transactions.

Marpi Interactive Projection: Renowned San Francisco technologist Marpi Marcinowski will be showing the Marpi Interactive Projection Installation - a new installation based on The Melting Wall project he completed for FITC Amsterdam 2018
