Frank Bowling
This polymergravure edition is a powerful example of Frank Bowling’s expressionistic and bold abstract painting practice translated through the print medium. Born in British Guyana in 1934 and arriving in London in 1953, Bowling is one of the foremost British artists working today.
Noelle Mason
Noelle Mason’s practice translates the traumas of our time onto surprising mediums, from Goblin tapestry to cross stitch embroidery. In the work shown here, Mason has taken satellite footage of the US/Mexican border, a site of continual violence and political divide and translated the image into a woven abstracted composition that initially confuses, but ultimately enlightens. As the viewer we become aware of our collective numbness to the daily barrage of brutality across headlines and tv screens. Born in San Diego in 1977, Mason now calls Tampa home, where she is also an educator and board member at the non-profit SuperTest.
Gabriel de la Mora
It is easy to become fascinated with the abstracted and biologically rich compositions of Mexican artist, Gabriel de la Mora, as he uses anything from eggshells, feathers, or in this case butterfly wings to construct his visually dynamic artworks. Born in 1968 in Mexico City where he currently lives andworks, he is known for these minimal and often monochrome-looking surfaces that belie great technical complexity.

Laura Smith Sweeney, a native of Los Angeles, studied Art History at UCLA followed by a postgraduate degree at the Sorbonne in Paris. After completing her MBA and 20+ years of experience in Wealth Management at firms such as JP Morgan, Laura founded LSS Art Advisory with a dedication to transparency, integrity and education. Laura enjoys collaborating with clients to build contemporary collections that have lasting value, both emotionally and financially. Laura is a member of the Association of Professional Art Advisors (APAA), the only standard setting organization for the profession with an emphasis on ethical practice.
Philanthropic support of the California arts community is an integral part of Laura’s ethos. Laura served as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors at the The San Francisco Art Institute and continues to be involved with SFMOMA, the De Young, the Wattis, Headlands Center for the Arts, Artadia, LACMA and the Hammer Museum.
