Iker Gil is the director of MAS Studio, a design firm based in Chicago. He is also the founder of the nonprofit MAS Context, the executive director of the SOM Foundation, and the editor of Concrete Chicago Map (Blue Crow Media, 2018) and the book Shanghai Transforming (ACTAR, 2008).

In addition, he is the co-curator of Exhibit Columbus 2020-2021 and was the Associate Curator of the U.S. Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.

He has co-curated or curated the exhibitions Poured Architecture: Sergio Prego on Miguel Fisac, Nocturnal Landscapes, BOLD: Alternative Scenarios for Chicago included in the inaugural Chicago Architecture Biennial, a gallery as part of the exhibition Chatter: Architecture Talks Back at the Art Institute of Chicago, and Synchronizing Geometry held at S.R. Crown Hall (IIT).

Iker has received several grants and awards for his work, including the Emerging Visions Award from the Chicago Architectural Club and grants from the Graham Foundation, The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, Casa Asia, and Acción Cultural Española.
