Hangul, Evoke Synesthesia - The Language of Five Senses
Savina Mueseum 2F, 3F
Savina Museum of Contemporary Art is holding a special exhibition. This exhibition was planned by paying attention to the synesthetic elements of Hangeul, our own character, which has been evaluated as the most creative and scientific among the characters that exist on the planet.
In this exhibition, a total of 50 works, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and videos, newly created by participating artists reinterpreting the sounds, shapes, and structures of Hangeul using various synesthetic approaches. These works stimulate complex senses, such as sight, taste, hearing, touch, and smell, so that the audience can enjoy immersion in the work by using the five senses to feel and experience Hangeul, out of the two-dimensional framework of simply seeing and reading Hangeul.
Through this exhibition, Sabina Museum of Art aims to re-examine the cultural value and meaning of Hangeul by introducing various types of visual art works that allow you to experience Hangeul synesthetically.
