COVID19 UPDATE:
As global events are continuing to be shaped and reshaped on a daily basis, we at Tanya Baxter Contemporary would like to send our very best wishes for the wellbeing of everyone both in our community of the art world and beyond.
The true cost of this tragedy will be felt by so many people around the world that it is hard to comprehend the scale of the impact at this juncture. We are full of admiration and gratitude for those essential workers who are continuing to take the necessary risks to ensure all of our safety and that society can function.
Due to the threat of exposing our colleagues and clients to severe illness, we have decided to temporarily close the gallery last week and will stay closed until it is safe.
Whilst we were supposed to be participating in The Open art Fair opening and Presenting our ART Basel exhibition we have placed both of these exhibitions on our website if you are interested in any works then please do get in touch. Throughout this period we are still offering a virtual service and I am available by phone or email to discuss any query.
We wish you all a safe and peaceful time to get through this period. Warm Regards
Tanya
Mental Health “COVID-19 Healing Art” is an appeal designed to support NHS mental health staff and patients during the coronavirus crisis. COVID-19 is having a massive impact on people’s mental health and the essential care that NHS staff are providing. Patients are facing the prospect of being unable to have friends or family visit them both whilst in hospital and in their homes, often facing isolation and loneliness. Many people are facing pressures of financial uncertainty, while children are unable to go to school and socialise with friends. These are all things we know will a huge impact on peoples' mental health, not just in the here and now but also in the long term too. The Maudsley Charity is working with front line NHS services at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to support hospital and community mental health services, caring for people across South London and the UK. We want to support the immediate and long term consequences of the crisis to prevent and treat mental illness for both adults and children.
How the Gallery is supporting the appeal: We have designed a scheme for all commercial galleries, online art platforms and auction houses to support the outstanding work of the NHS at this critical time. We will offer a major dealer discount on all artworks to encourage collectors to continue investment and support the art market. We are encouraging buyers to donate 10% of the agreed sale price of each artwork directly into the “Mental Health Covid19 Healing Art” set up to help support mental health patients and staff coping with the impact of the pandemic. All donations will go directly to Maudsley Charity in support of vital mental health work during and following the crisis.
