Sculpture-Based Photography
About
Photographs of a sculpture—or a more complex installation—that has been built primarily for the purpose of being photographed and most often does not exist outside of the documentation. Thomas Demand’s photographs of highly-realistic "rooms" composed of paper are arguably the best-known examples of this type of work. Sculpture-based photography is related to Staged Photography and Performance, as well as Trompe l'oeil.
