Founded in 2008 in Bucharest, 418 Gallery later relocated to Cetate on the Danube in 2017, becoming Romania's inaugural rural gallery. Housed in a 19th-century estate, it offers a distinctive venue for emerging artists to showcase expansive installations and Land Art.

Founded in 2008 in Bucharest, 418 Gallery moved to Cetate on the Danube in 2017, becoming Romania's first rural gallery. Located in a 19th-century estate, it provides a unique space for young artists to showcase large installations and Land Art. The gallery focuses on the '60s and '70s Romanian and Eastern European avant-garde, exploring the Abstract Expressionism behind the Iron Curtain. With the Munich branch since 2017, the gallery not only aims to rediscover the 20th-century avant-garde, but also to represent contemporary Romanian art, and foster new talents in dialogue with European artists. Hosting the Cetate Arts Danube Residency since 2008, it brings Romanian and international artists together for summer workshops.
