With a careful selection of artists with works that awaken social consciousness, AWL stands as a meeting point for those who seek to understand and confront the challenges of our time through the lens of creativity, diversity, equality, social justice, and identity.
AWL Airas Wang de Lafée is a contemporary art space located in Girona, Spain. It is our goal to prioritize the voices of artists who support positions of awareness towards postcolonial realities and their identity politics, re-evaluating traditional processes and collective knowledge; the analysis of political economies through an anthropogenic lens; and the inherent blurring of natural and artificial realities in post digitallity. We connect gestures presented in the gallery with its surroundings by tying into a vernacular frame of history, architecture and design, gastronomy, landscape, and craftsmanship.
