Blue Mountain Gallery

Blue Mountain Gallery was founded in 1980 to show the work of strong representational painters and to stimulate the representational tradition of painting which was almost totally absent from New York’s commercial galleries at the time. Over the years the mission has grown to include a variety of approaches to painting and sculpture. Member artists regularly review work for inclusion in the gallery, where there are exhibitions twelve months of the year with public receptions and periodic educational talks. The gallery has held public poetry readings by such notable poets as the late Kenneth Koch, collaborations between poets and painters with the poets reading their work, discussions with art critics and occasional dance recitals.
