Equity Gallery operates under the auspices of New York Artists Equity Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization founded in 1947 by an illustrious coterie of artists and patrons with the aim of supporting the professional aspirations of emerging artists.
Equity Gallery is a distinctive art space located on the Lower East Side of New York City--a diverse neighborhood ideal for hosting a vibrant arts and education gallery program. The gallery serves as an exhibition space for artists to curate shows and sell their work, and a hub for professional workshops and innovative curricula exploring critical issues of interest to artists, curators and patrons. With today’s increased focus on the art market, Equity situates artists and their allies as career makers in an empowered collective that advances authentic fellowship in support of professional development and recognition.
