IMUR (stands for “I am you are.”) is an art gallery that is dedicated to creating shared experiences, promoting the talents of our time who explore ideas opening across cultures. Located at 67 Greene Street, Jersey City, IMUR opened with a recognition that the US has the most diverse population in the world – every race, gender, and religion with cultural histories and artistic traditions interwoven into an astonishing mosaic of inter-cultural expression. In this expansive atmosphere, IMUR began its programming with contemporary thematic exhibitions and events that harness the energies of its local communities, bridging the multi-cultural ‘differences’ and exemplifying the aspirations of artists engaged with reflecting and reacting to the state of the world .
