Planta Libre

Planta Libre* is a gallery and space for artistic projects located in the downtown area of ​​Mexicali. Since its opening in 2014, it has become a platform for local contemporary artists as well as the movement to rescue downtown Mexicali. Although it focuses on working with artists from Baja California, Planta Libre also tries to link the region with the rest of Mexico and the neigbor California. Throughout its history, Planta Libre has been an acquirer of national cultural promotions such as the Reactivation of Independent Stage Spaces (2020-21) through the Ministry of Culture; Fomento Fundación Arte Contemporáneo Jumex (2022). Planta Libre has particpated in several art fairs such as Clavo en Movimiento (2022), FAMA Monterrey (2022) y Salón ACME (2023).
