Simões de Assis

Simões de Assis, founded in Curitiba (Paraná, Brazil) in 1984, is directed by Waldir Simões de Assis Filho, and Guilherme and Laura - the second generation of the family. It focuses on modern and contemporary art, with a special interest in Latin American production. The gallery specializes in preserving the estate of important artists as Carmelo Arden Quin, Cícero Dias, Miguel Bakun, Niobe Xandó and Luis Schwanke. Simões de Assis hosts the proposition of constantly reviewing previous artistic productions through contemporary reflections based on the dialogue between renowned and emerging artists. The gallery invests in partnerships with galleries and institutions around the world, in participating in international fairs, and in the continuous publication of catalogues for its program.
