The Lapis Press was founded in 1984 by artist Sam Francis with the goal of producing unusual and timely texts in visually compelling formats. Recently, Lapis Press has produced bronze sculpture editions by Ed Ruscha and print editions by a roster of contemporary artists.
The Lapis Press was founded in 1984 by artist Sam Francis with the goal of producing unusual and timely texts in visually compelling formats. Lapis has collaborated with a roster of contemporary artists that includes Vija Clemins, Anish Kapoor, Barbara Kruger and Christopher Wool. In recent years, Lapis Press has produced two bronze sculpture editions by Ed Ruscha and print editions by Kehinde Wiley, Analia Saban, Abelardo Morell and Matthew Brandt.
