The Gallery specialises in British & Continental art, with the accent on Scottish painting from 17th-21st centuries and 18th century English portraiture. Paintings are presented in our unique Swiss built Tudor/Chalet type house, showing paintings in a domestic environment.
The Gallery specialises in British & Continental art, with the accent on Scottish painting from 17th-21st centuries & 18th century English portraiture. Paintings are presented in our Swiss built Tudor/Chalet type house, where paintings are shown in a uniquely domestic environment. Works by contemporary British artists hang alongside Victorian paintings & general paintings that catch our eye. The Gallery has been in business for over 50 years & has shown in a number of countries as well as exhibiting at many antique fairs throughout Britain. The Gallery wrote & published 'The Dictionary of Scottish Art & Architecture' which, with over 12,000 names, is the definitive treatise on Scottish art. We particularly like the work of Thomas Gainsborough & are proud to have recently found 5 new works.
