Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is the first major museum in Africa dedicated to contemporary art. We collect, preserve, research & exhibit cutting edge contemporary art from Africa & the Diaspora & host temporary exhibitions from around the world.
The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is the first museum of its kind dedicated to collect, preserve, research and exhibit 21st-century art from Africa and its diaspora. The museum hosts international exhibitions, develops supporting educational and enrichment programmes, encourages intercultural understanding, and guarantees access for all.
Zeitz MOCAA comprises more than sixty galleries, spread over six floors, dedicated to a large cutting-edge permanent collection; temporary exhibitions; and Centres for Art Education, Curatorial Training, Performative Practice, Photography, and the Moving Image.
The museum is housed in 9 500 square metres of custom-designed space and is carved out of the monumental structure of an historic grain silo complex.
