Over the past year Disston has been exploring how to work with AI in ways that do not remove the artist from making the art.

These paintings are a result of that process, where Disston uses an AI image maker as a collaborative partner. He starts with his own studies, then uploads them into the bot which turns out variations of his work. He then uses whatever interests his from the output, be it whole or in part to make new paintings. The creative process comes full circle, from person to bot and back to the person.
