2020 V is a work of textile art by the artist Christiane Maurer, from the series 2020 V.
In this work, the artist uses regular, vertical geometric patterns to explore the interactions between vibrant shades of yellow and blue.
Christiane Maurer’s works, hand-woven on a loom, explore interactions, transitions and combinations of colours. The language chosen is that of abstraction: simple geometric patterns are used to create intersecting lines of different colours. Each of the artist’s series explores a different combination of colours and motifs in a constantly evolving quest. Her works, which range from very vivid to more delicate chromatic tones, reveal shifting nuances and subtle iridescence influenced by the light in their environment and the movement of the viewer.

2022 I – 8 is a work of textile art by the artist Christiane Maurer, from the series 2022 I. In this series, the artist uses rectangular and horizontal geometric patterns to explore combinations and transitions between different colours. The challenge for her is to explore these gradations not with paint, which can be mixed, but with individual threads that must interact with the nuances of the adjacent threads.

2018 I is a work of textile art by the artist Christiane Maurer, from the series 2018 I. In this work, the artist uses rectangles of different sizes to explore the interactions between cold colors, like violet and green, and warm colors, such as orange and red. The combination of the myriad shades of color and the geometric patterns gives this piece a dynamic feel.

2024 II – 3 is a work of textile art by the artist Christiane Maurer, from the series 2024 II.
In this series, the artist uses very simple geometric motifs, two rectangles, to explore the interactions between cold colours, such as violet and green, and warm colours, such as orange and yellow. The motifs here are simplified in comparison with the other series. It is all part of Christiane Maurer’s artistic evolution, as she explains: “I realized that I don’t need a lot of patterns; I just need some contours where coloured lines can meet each other and can explode or vanish.”

2023 III – 12 is an installation composed of 4 canvases by the artist Christiane Maurer, from the series 2023 III : 2023 III – 1, 4, 6 and 8. Each canvas is 40 x 45 cm.
In this series of small-format works, the artist divides the surface into four spaces on which rectangular forms are superimposed. These devices allow her to multiply the interactions between the colours she has chosen and their different tones.
