TROY HENRIKSEN

Troy Henricksen - The American in Paris
Troy Henriksen is an American artist of Norwegian descent, born in 1962 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He lives and works in Paris. His parents, Norwegian immigrants, arrived in the United States in 1953. His father attended art school and founded his own fishing company. In the 1980s, following the family tradition, Troy combined his profession as a fisherman with his love of art. He sailed the waters of Moby Dick for about fifteen years. Between fishing adventures, he left everything behind to devote himself to painting. He embarked on a road trip and fell in love with Paris. He has been there ever since.

I believe strongly in the color chakras as found in Sanskrit philosophy and how they relate to the human experience and incorporate this into my painting as well. Painting saved my life. At the age 27 while attempting suicide I found a bucket of paint. I opened it up and have been painting ever since. Troy Henriksen
