Each piece is hand-painted and unique, representing the crucial first stage of the creative process where the artist experiments with color fields, textures and forms to eventually inspire and translate into bigger versions. These paintings often work beautifully together in a series or on their own. Their creation is often spontaneous, working with colors, textures and forms which derive from the artists' lived experience. The titles of each piece furthermore reflect the creative process and Bang & Lessin's penchant for 'pareidolia' or seeing images in otherwise random gestures of abstraction.
