Loura van der Meule, a native of the Netherlands, lives and works in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her favorite materials are oil pastels on paper, and sometimes she incorporates acrylic paint and graphite. The urban landscape and industrial architecture are often the subjects of her work.

Loura has a bachelor’s degree from the Academy of Visual Arts, “Sint Joost” in Breda, where she studied sculpture. She attended The School for Design and Décor “NIMETO” in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The influence of her Dutch culture is often recognizable in her work, like in the Zeeuwse Women and the Delft’s Blue series. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries in the Tristate area. It has been collected by museums, corporations, and private collectors in the Netherlands and the United States.
