Kolja Kärtner Sainz est un peintre allemand basé à Leipzig et étudiant à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Leipzig.
Explorant profondément cette intersection, il tente d’interpréter librement les états de la nature et de l’artificiel et de ne pas capturer des moments rigides, mais plutôt des flous, des mouvements et des changements de perception.
Dans ses peintures, Kolja Kärtner Sainz recherche un état intermédiaire idéal où la représentation et l’abstraction peuvent coexister. Travaillant à l’huile et à l’encre en plusieurs couches, ses peintures semblent rendre les forces conflictuelles de l’abstraction et de la figuration entrelacées dans des états de changement sans fin. Kolja Kärtner Sainz a récemment exposé dans plusieurs expositions collectives avec Spencer Brownstone Gallery (New York), Tabula Rasa Gallery (Pékin) et Reuter Bausch Gallery (Luxembourg).
Il présentera sa première exposition personnelle à DS Galerie, à l’automne 2023.

Kolja Kärtner Sainz (b.1998) is a German painter based in Leipzig. With a background in both painting and photography, Kolja Kärtner Sainz seeks an ideal intermediate state where representation and abstraction can coexist. Deeply exploring this intersection, he tries to freely interpret states of nature and the artificial and not to capture rigid moments, but rather blurs and changes in perception, resulting in striking and unique paintings.
