Alchemy
Alchemy
This winter, the Galerie Melbye-Konan presents Belén (born 1997 in Hamburg), a London-based emerging artist and graduate of the Royal College of Art, in her first solo exhibition "Alchemy." From December 5, 2024, to February 28, 2025, her paintings and paper works will be showcased across a 400-square-meter space.
"To me, painting is a form of alchemy – a process in which colors and materials transform to bring forth deeper insights and emotions." – Belén
In the exhibition "Alchemy," Belén explores the profound processes of transformation in nature and the human mind. Alchemical principles are at the heart of her works, which depict organic patterns and flowing structures, elegantly portraying metamorphosis and the passage of time. By using materials such as copper, gold, and pigments, each piece evokes symbolic meanings, enriching the visual language of her art.
