The solo exhibition "Alter Ego" by Hans Henrik Fischer. This will be an exhibition without children in the paintings. Instead, we get to experience works with a little man. About the little man, Hans Henrik says: " I kind of see that figure as a form of self-portrait - hence the title Alter Ego - not a self-portrait that looks like, but more an image of childlike innocence mixed with the wisdom of age and the weaknesses that come with it "
Hans Henrik Fischer (1978) is a master of the lowbrow genre. The focal point of his style is the mixture of the classic and caricatured cartoon. Fischer is fascinated by, among other things of examining whether we are born pure and innocent and then destroyed by outside influences, or whether we are born with evil within us. Hence his motifs with otherwise innocent children in more or less macabre scenes. The solo exhibition "Alter Ego" will be an exhibition without children in the paintings. Instead, we get to experience works with a little man. If you have followed Hans Henrik Fischer's art for a long time, you may already know that the little man was a regular figure in Fischer's paintings 20 years ago, when his artistic career began to take off. About the little man, Hans Henrik says: " I kind of see that figure as a form of self-portrait - hence the title Alter Ego - not a self-portrait that looks like, but more an image of childlike innocence mixed with the wisdom of age and the weaknesses that come with it " This mixture of innocence/child and wisdom/adultis also seen in the small man's proportions, where the head can seem too large for the body, just as you see it in children, while the wrinkles of the face/the face reveals the experience and wisdom of life. Hans Henrik is not interested in telling the viewer a story about the works, but instead wants the works to awaken something in the viewer with their expression.
