A Collection of Landscapes

Traced back to the 4th century, Landscape painting has held a leading spot in the wide array of painting genres. To this day, landscapes continue to exist as a central focus across all mediums of art. This viewing room displays an array of modern artists calling back to the traditions of the romantic, impressionist, and academic movements in landscape painting.
"Moving through the landscape, the presence of history saturates the experience - operating within a traditional mode of landscape painting and observation - akin to the Hudson River School tradition." - Don Pollack
The Landscape has existed in art as a metaphor for centuries; one of growth, contemplation, history, resilience, and beauty. A selected body of works by artists Jeff Aeling, Ahzad Bogosian, Arthur Chartow, Rose Freymuth-Frazier, Richard Gibbons, Christina Haglid, Adam Holzrichter, Pozas, Xiao, Carol Pylant, and Don Pollack showcases the place that landscape painting continues to hold in the arts. Calling back to the methods of the Hudson River School, Impressionists and Rocky Mountain School in conjunction with the modern experience of landscapes, the artists present a powerful array of works with the ever-present beauty of natural lands at the forefront.
