Material Dreams by Pietro Terzini
Intent Gallery is pleased to present "Material Dreams," a solo exhibition by acclaimed Italian artist Pietro Terzini, opening on September 26. Terzini's work offers a nuanced reflection on how consumer culture shapes our lives. He is known for his collaborations with luxury brands like Max Mara, Tiffany & Co, Valentino, and Stella McCartney.
His work blurs the line between consumerism and art, using the language of high fashion to explore the emotional complexities of contemporary life.
In "Material Dreams," Italian artist Pietro Terzini invites us to explore the intersection of luxury, identity, and modern desire. Known for his collaborations with iconic fashion houses like Valentino, Stella McCartney, and Tiffany & Co., Terzini transforms the familiar visuals of these brands into powerful canvases for reflection.
His work blurs the line between consumerism and art, using the language of high fashion to explore the emotional complexities of contemporary life. Through handwritten text overlaid on luxurious brand imagery, Terzini opens a dialogue about the aspirations, contradictions, and tensions that exist in a world driven by material wealth and digital connections.
In this exhibition, Terzini reimagines fashion logos—symbols of status and desire—as vehicles for more profound commentary. His works ask us to reconsider the relationship between what we own and who we are and how brands influence our wardrobes and our sense of self.
Each piece in "Material Dreams" challenges viewers to reflect on the influence of luxury in their lives—how it shapes our values, relationships, and perceptions of success. Through a blend of bold typography and striking brand motifs, Terzini captures the beauty, allure, and complexity of our material dreams.
While his works celebrate the elegance and craft of luxury design, they also encourage introspection. What lies beneath the surface of consumer culture? How do our desires—both material and emotional—define us in the digital age?
Material Dreams offers a visual journey through these questions, exploring how luxury acts as both a mirror and a mask.

Pietro Terzini - The Best Things Are Not Things
Pietro Terzini created a viral digital graffiti work on the new Hermès store building site in Milan. Terzini stumbled upon the building site while out for a run and saw it as a “marvellous canvas.” He initially planned to create a traditional graffiti piece but was dissuaded by his housemate, a lawyer, who warned him of potential legal consequences. Instead, Terzini took a photo of the site and digitally added the now-famous statement before sharing it on social media.
