We are delighted to present the latest series by Japanese contemporary artist Nene, titled “Ephemeral Interplay Ⅱ.” Known for figurative works featuring faceless figures in hats, such as those in the “A Girl in a Straw Hat” series, Nene also regularly explores abstract art. This new series, unveiled this year, showcases an innovative approach to abstract expression.
Nene’s “Ephemeral Interplay” Series: A Contemporary Exploration of Abstract Art
The “Ephemeral Interplay” series consists of artworks, each meticulously crafted to a size of 27.5 cm x 22.3 cm x 4.1 cm. Nene has designed these pieces with a distinctive depth, applying canvas to panels that are assembled to create a three-dimensional effect. A diverse range of materials and techniques are employed, including oil and acrylic painting, as well as custom-formulated liquid mediums. Each piece is a result of Nene’s dedicated process, resulting in a collection of visually stunning and high-quality artworks. Nene’s commitment to color balance is evident in the work, even in figurative pieces where a careful selection of oils, acrylics, and various mediums is used to achieve the desired hues. The “Ephemeral Interplay” series exemplifies a passion for color balance, delivering a striking presence and an ineffable allure, despite the relatively small size of each piece.
