Mari Kuroda: Dining Scenes

Kouichi Fine Arts is pleased to present an exhibition featuring a series of Mari Kuroda's paintings inspired by dining scenes from her favorite films. We welcome you to experience the lively energy and soft colors of everyday life portrayed in Mari Kuroda's paintings inspired by memorable movie scenes.
Mari Kuroda learned the technique of stencil dyeing from her father, a dyeing artist named Toru Kuroda, and incorporated it into her own artwork. Her series of paintings inspired by memorable movie scenes are depicted with a fresh sensibility and soft color scheme unique to Japanese painting. Kuroda's works portray everyday life with a lively energy, where sounds of chatter and clinking dishes can be heard, especially in her depictions of dining scenes.
