Mari Kuroda: Nihonga painting

Kouichi Fine Arts is pleased to present Mari Kuroda's solo exhibition "The Beauty of Impermanence." Featured are Japanese-style Nihonga painting that utilize natural mineral pigments and ink to create a stylish, refined feeling.
Mari Kuroda's unique style is characterized by the use of various materials such as Japanese washi paper, cotton fabric, and panels, in combination with traditional materials such as mud and rock paints, ink, and acrylic paints, as well as the use of a luminous and transparent seashell-based pigment known as "gofun". She creates not only still life and living creatures that highlight the surrounding space, but also conceptually themed works that depict the passing of time. Mari Kuroda's refreshing and distinctly Japanese works can be displayed in any location, making her art truly one-of-a-kind.
