Nene: Shoot the Moon

Nene: Shoot the Moon

We present an exhibition featuring four latest works by contemporary Japanese artist Nene. Titled "Shoot the Moon," this collection explores the theme of pure desire to achieve what often seems impossible, with a particular focus on the moon as a symbol of aspiration and wonder.
Nene is an unconventional artist who refrains from disclosing personal details such as gender, choosing instead to embody the pure essence of "Nene" within their work. In an age where contemporary society often diminishes the sense of wonder, Nene’s art emerges from a dialogue with an inner, childlike self that remains untainted. Through their work, Nene seeks to convey the beauty of human emotions—surprise and wonder—by engaging with these pure feelings. The artwork is characterized by simple compositions and vibrant color schemes. The meticulous selection of materials, including oils and acrylics, creates a distinctive balance of colors that captivates audiences globally. Nene believes that the emotional reimagining through the established inner persona of "Nene" is essential to their art, and this philosophy is deeply embedded in their creations.
