Gyul - Korea Behind

Gyul - Korea Behind

Gyul series
I face the canvas thinking of the horsemen who constantly fought and won against foreign enemies while riding horses in the natural environment of desolate plains and rugged mountainous areas. Every night, I find myself running across the vast land, going through the process of burning with passion in front of the canvas. Once again, this night passes by with a dappling firework. Behind my haggard body, the morning sunlight rising like a ball of fire stirs my heart. I greet the morning with warm joy. The old, sparse and rough traces left on the canvas eventually appear as countless sparkles like silver waves reflected in the moonlight. In order to pray for the soul of the deceased and to leave a historical record of the person who died through paintings, with the hope of enjoying eternal life in the afterlife, unchanged from this world, and of rebirth in this world, along with the Goguryeo tomb murals, which contain the intention to bless the glorious life of the dead, creates another space by going back in time. I pray for the peace of those who inspired me.
