Explore the captivating beauty of Earth’s natural landscapes through the lens of renowned photographer Ingo Arndt in the exhibition "Fluid Forms: The Art of Water and Sand." Arndt's work captures the intricate and often abstract patterns formed by water and sand, revealing the delicate interplay of nature’s forces. From the bird’s-eye perspective of Iceland's glacial rivers, photographed from helicopters, to the black sandy expanses of volcanic lava fields, each image in this collection highlights the dynamic textures and subtle color palettes shaped by erosion, wind, and water. His series, »BlackSand«, showcases the haunting beauty of Iceland’s »Black Beach« and the glittering ice formations of »Diamond Beach«, while »WaterShapes« presents a broader exploration of water’s influence on diverse terrains—from the dunes of Brazil to the tidal sandbars of the North Sea. Arndt’s meticulous process, using high-resolution digital medium format cameras, ensures that every detail is captured, allowing viewers to appreciate the artistry of nature from both an abstract and documentary perspective.
"I've always been captivated by the aerial view of our planet. During numerous flights , I became fascinated by the patterns created by water on the earth's surface. Over the years, I created a series that portrays water's shapes in both abstract and documentary styles. Sandbars of the North Sea at low tide, a river delta between white dunes in Brazil, or the Glacial Rivers in Iceland. Minerals, sediments and even aquatic plants create an almost inexhaustible play of colors."
