The Painting Center is pleased to present Swinging from the Rafters featuring new works by Connie Brown. This solo exhibition will be on view in the Main Gallery from February 27 – March 23, 2024. Influenced by the music filling her studio, Brown effortlessly mixes emotion and fantasy, bringing a vibrant energy to the exhibition. Colors cascade as playful, whimsical, and sensuous forms craft a visual playground of adventures. Drawing upon her extensive background as a sculptor, Brown gravitates towards amorphic, organic, and monumental shapes. She translates her daily sketching practice into diverse artistic expressions, including paintings, mobiles, and wall sculptures. After obtaining her BFA in Studio Art from the University of Arizona, Connie Brown has exhibited her paintings in shows throughout New England and New York. A dedicated member of the artistic community, Brown actively participates as an artist member at The Painting Center in New York and the Silvermine Guild in New Canaan, CT.
