The works are based on photographs by Andy Warhol and are the original forerunners of the later print works from 1983.

The sitters are Jay Shriver, Warhol's assistant at the time, and the artist's personal trainer, Lydia Cengic.

Possibly created in connection with the work on the prints Flowers (see Feldman/Schellmann/Defendi II.110-109 and II.110-119) from 1974.

The drawing features Warhol's signature at the bottom and a dedication "to Tonia and Rob" at the top. The drawing is on the printed title page of "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B & Back Again)." Warhol's "Campbell's Soup" series, initiated in the early 1960s, is among his most iconic works, symbolising the intersection of art, consumerism, and mass production.
