Soon, Xanadu Gallery will open a solo show by Agata Czeremuszkin-Chrut titled "Membranes". The exhibition has a processual character. What matters to us—and to the artist as well—is showcasing not only the final works but also the entire process of arriving at forms, aesthetic solutions, and decisions regarding color and form. We invite you to explore Agata Czeremuszkin-Chrut’s studio and delve into the conceptual work behind the exhibition.
"Membranes" will be a deeply personal exhibition, reflecting on our human biology, mortality, endurance, and care for loved ones.
Working on an exhibition is not just about selecting works from the most recent period. At least, it shouldn't be. The display of artworks, even in the case of a solo show rather than a thematic exhibition, should be thoughtfully curated. It is an autonomous creation itself and, for the artist but also for the curator, often a deeply emotional experience.
A well-prepared solo exhibition is typically the result of collaboration with a curator, who gathers the artist's ideas, organizes them, suggests certain spatial arrangements, helps select the works, and ensures better communication with the audience—art lovers and collectors. These conceptual discussions are a kind of brainstorming session and a creative process in their own right.

Although we rarely have the time to visit artists in their studios, working on an exhibition requires it. It's a fortunate necessity because it allows us to delve deeper into the work of the artists we represent, to understand them and what they wish to convey to their audience. This process helps create an exhibition that is not only engaging for viewers but also aligns with the artist's vision. It also aids in writing about and presenting their work more effectively.
