Discover the selected artists and their work!
In our 30th participation in the ARCO fair in Madrid, we present a selection of the latest creations by a series of artists with whom we have worked in recent years, both national and international, who are the pillars of our identity and history. as a gallery, as well as new proposals, younger or emerging. Among the artists that make up the stand is Sandra Vásquez de la Horra (Chile, 1967), an artist recently exhibited at the gallery and a guest at the 59th edition of the Venice Biennale. She will be accompanied by Elena del Rivero (Valencia, 1949), an artist who is currently exhibiting at Galeria Senda, and Anthony Goicolea (Atlanta, 1971), who will open with us this spring, on April 13. Peter Halley (New York, 1953) will participate with one of his emblematic paintings as well as Jaume Plensa (Barcelona, 1955), an iconic figure of international public sculpture, and we will also be able to enjoy the work of the multidisciplinary artist Glenda León (Havana , 1976). Gino Rubert (Mexico, 1969) will also configure our stand with his sensual paintings as well as new works by Yago Hortal (Barcelona, 1983). This repertoire of national artists is completed by Jordi Bernadó (Lleida, 1966) who will present one of his latest photographs. Enjoy our selection below!
Jordi Bernadó: Lac Télé (CON 1.1) cc, 2022
This new piece by Jordi Bernadó (Lleida, 1966) was in the Gran Teatre del Liceu last August in Barcelona. Bernadó photographs Lake Télé, in the Republic of Congo, from an airplane, one of the most isolated and enigmatic lakes in the world. Its water, which offers a clear reflection from the sky, is actually dark, tinged with minerals and residues. This piece explores the depth of perception and human identity, the limits of reality and the ambivalences of representation.

Glenda León: La Lección
The Spanish-Cuban artist Glenda León (Havana, 1976) will exhibit part of her new work, this time with a sculpture of a harp together with a selection of works on paper. The harp is a musical instrument that can be seen as a metaphor for the feminine, for the delicate, in this case it is intervened with barbed wire replacing its strings which can speak of an unexpected situation, a heartbreaking silence, a surprise that hurts.

Anthony Goicolea: The Gathering
The work of Anthony Goicolea (Atlanta, 1971) is a visceral reaction to a lifetime navigating the codified boundaries that exist between cultures, genders, ages, and traditions. Goicolea paints fictional settings through the lens of his personal and family history. Growing up Cuban, gay, and Catholic in the Deep South during the early 1970s forged his awareness of social constructs such as regional traditions, rituals, and history, and how those elements play into and define our identities.

Sandra Vásquez de la Horra: El Mito Del Eterno Retorno
After her exhibition at SENDA, Aura and her participation in the 59th edition of the Biennale di Venezia, Sandra Vásquez de la Horra (Chile, 1967) introduces us to the complex universe of theosophy, exploring the link between the aura & the Human nature. Through a multiplicity of techniques ranging from three-dimensional pieces, charcoal, watercolor and wax; Vásquez de la Horra traces bodies that she conceives as geographical entities, endowing them with labyrinths, landscapes & mountain ranges.

Elena Del Rivero: Letter from Home #3, 2016
Taking advantage of the current exhibition at Galería Senda, Elena del Rivero (Valencia, 1949) presents a selection of works from one of her representative proposals, Letters from Home, where she delves into the domestic with huge hanging kitchen towels that make up a landscape of flags. Her encrusted stains tell her story and elevate all that is domestic to the realm of the transcendent, while she offers a scathing critique of monumentalism.

Gino Rubert: More Wine Please
In parallel to his Fatamorgana exhibition at the Tecla Sala Art Center in Barcelona, Gino Rubert (Mexico, 1969) presents his latest paintings to which he adds a new element to emphasize the mystery that characterizes them so much: light and even sound. His work, often in an autobiographical key, explores the interior of the individual, introducing us to the natural path of thought-emotion-reaction, and thus being able to reflect on oneself and on our being in the world.
