The Lapis Press is pleased to present recently published editions created in The Lapis Press studio.
"If an image is good, it is brought back to life by the feelings of the viewer." -Daido Moriyama
This exhibition features a dynamic collection of recent print editions, showcasing the evolving techniques and creative expressions of various contemporary artists The Lapis Press has had the honor of working with. Each piece reflects a unique approach to printmaking, from a portfolio of photographic prints to bold 3D lenticulars, offering a visual dialogue between tradition and innovation. The exhibition invites viewers to explore the subtle textures, vibrant color contrasts, and layered narratives that define the contemporary print scene, highlighting both the technical precision and the personal storytelling embedded in each edition.
Kenturah Davis
Kenturah Davis shifts scope and focus in a single shot, commanding both viewer and subject into an ethereal fourth-dimensional space. With her lenticular print "duration I (jada)", 2024, and pigment print "tangents (jada-marjani-marcella)", 2024, Davis extends time through her compulsion to gather at the seams of movement locating a nearly intangible, unbound subject.

Daido Moriyama
Classic Daido contains a selection of prints of Daido Moriyama’s early black and white street photography, culled directly from the artist’s studio archive. The selection reveals the expansiveness of his perspective and the psychological breadth of his vision, which he has called “the eyes of a dog.” Moriyama’s juxtaposition of the forgotten, surreal, and infamous underscores the heightened transience of the moment.

Helen Pashgian
The Lapis Press is pleased to present a new edition by Helen Pashgian, “Untitled (the Green Lens)”, 2024. This edition of 7 pigment prints on paper is a continuation of her lifelong examination of the transitory perception of light. In Untitled (the Green Lens), pink flashes appear around the green edges and into the borders of the print. “Untitled (the Green Lens)”, 2024 recreates on paper the mystical effect that Pashgian’s lenses have in a controlled environment.

Stephen Shore
New York, 1974, is a series of 3D lenticular editions by the acclaimed photographer; Stephen Shore. These prints carry on his multi-faceted exploration of the everyday world by creating a vivid sense of spatial awareness within a two-dimensional image. Collaborating with Shore, The Lapis Press translated stereo images taken by Shore in 1974 into lenticular pictures, presenting the illusion of depth without the use of a stereograph.
